sprint logo Sprint offers bird call ringtones

This is just plain weird. As much as I tired of listening to what the person in the queue at the cash register next to me, as a ringtone, a chirping bird would be worse than some crappy country song. Sprint has announced that it has, together with the Audubon, to name birds released ringtones.

It will be offered 28 different bird ringtones, including the Field Sparrow, Red-bellied Woodpecker and the Black-capped Chickadee. The ringtones can be downloaded on Bird 1111 or from the Sprint Digital Lounge by SMS.

Sprint says that the sounds help to get money for the Audubon mission to birds in their natural habitat. I wonder if they have a ringtone for the most famous bird of them all – Woody Woodpecker.
